Branding & Awareness project - Ashreq / Brighten

There is a large majority of blind and visually impaired individuals living across the world. Various charities, awareness campaigns, and blind associations have been created in order to help them lead a normal life. Even though there are many people aware of the blind and visual impaired, there are still people who disregard the importance of aiding these handicapped citizens to live normally.

After going through several researches, it was pointed out that unlike elders and adults, the young adults of today are the least aware of such matters.

This project in general, is an advertising and awareness campaign project to raise awareness of the young adults nowadays of the blind and visually impaired individuals living in the UAE.

Brighten is a blind association that is established in this project to help grab the attention of young adults in UAE through modern art design, because based on several studies, modern art is what captures their interest these days.
The logo of the brighten corporation is portrayed in bilingual; Arabic & English. The colours of the logo were chosen specifically from the hues of the sky because the word 'ashreq' suggests the meaning of a rising sun.
The colors of the logo will change depending on the background. The logo can be used in orange if the background was dark green, and change to dark green if the background was orange. The black and white logo is to be used in cases were colours were not possible to use.
The letter 'g' from the word 'brighten' in the logo is used as one of the elements of design for this project.
Another element of design used in this project, is the word 'ashreq' in braille language.
GE SS was choses as the official arabic typeface for the project. It was specifically chosen to enhance the overall brand and visual language of brighten corporation.
Dekar has been chosen as the primary english typeface for the project. This was also specifically chosen to enhance the overall brand and visual language of the brigten corporation.
The stationary of in the image above consist of a letter head, business cards, post cards, A5 note books and a pencil. Placed beside the letter head is Brighten's brand manual which is made up of 60 pages in both, English as well as Arabic.
A close up shot of brighten's business card. The braille on the front side of the business card is embossed.
This is an awareness poster that was designed with the purpose of attracting the views from a far away distance by using modern colours. When looking at this poster, every viewer perceives it in their own way. While looking at the upper part of the posters, some thought it was an eye and others thought it was the sun. But the actual meaning behind it is, "from dark to light".

The quote in the poster says: "I can see, and this why I can be happy in what you call the dark but which to me is golden, I can see a God-made world not a man-made world." - Hellen Keller.
This is an advertisement poster designed in bilingual language. The purpose of designing it was to advertise the brighten association. The main focus is on the 'braille' part making it very straightforward for the viewers that this is a poster for a blind association.

Slogan - "We work together hand in hand to brighten their world."
This website was designed in the project to let others know more details about the brighten association. There's are 5 pages created in this website; home page, who are we?, charity events, give aways, donate and contact us.

The charity events page has a schedule for the fundraising events that they prepare. The schedule makes it easy for the viewers to join and participate in the events.

The give aways shows images of the gift items that were designed for the brighten association. The items are made up of; t-shirts, caps, mugs, pens, pencils, A5 notebooks and awareness bracelets.

The donation page is open for people who would like to donate money for the blind individuals within the association.
